I have had two sessions of gamma knife treatment to my brain tumours, I crashed prior to my third treatment and was admitted to petermac, they postponed my last treatment due to extensive brain swelling after the gamma knife, this is yet to be rescheduled.

Over the next week I became very ill mentally and physically, I was experiencing disassociation and suicidal thoughts let alone the physical symptoms. I was rushed to emergency as I had become severely septic with crp levels of 280 (170 is very dangerous levels and normal is around 5) I had a week on the oncology ward with constant iv antibiotic treatment and tests, I had grown my own bacterial infection in lungs due to the long term steroids I was prescribed for the brain swelling. I also tested positive for influenza a, tail end of covid and pneumonia. The hospital staff and drs were fantastic at maroondah.

I had my first round of chemotherapy and immunotherapy last Friday I haven’t had any nausea or vomiting so far but my general health has been deteriorating since, I’m increasingly weak all over, my legs keep giving out on me and headaches on and off. The significant leg oedema/swelling has subsided but my knee pain started a few days ago it feels like I’ve been baseball batted to the knee caps.

The disassociation feeling has returned and increasingly getting worse, I feel mental as. My partner rang my Drs and they told me to go to emergency to be checked over I’m now waiting for a bed on the ward, I’ve had bloods, xray and started antibiotics quickly so hoping they can get ontop of whatever it may be.
